They just sneak everything in there! Marvel just released “Marvel Studios Celebrates the Movies,” a sweet little video that seems like it’s a montage of existing-movie moments set to a touching voiceover by Stan Lee … and then it gets you with the new stuff.

This is a teaser for everything coming up from Marvel—including a tiny bit of footage from newly minted Oscar winner Chloe Zhao’s Eternals and the title reveals for Black Panther 2, now called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Captain Marvel 2, now called The Marvels.

The Eternals footage is brief and effective, a glimpse at the characters (and Angelina Jolie with a cool sword) and a suggestion that this movie is going to change things up. It’s followed by a string of logos and release dates, some of which are new:

  • Black Widow: July 9, 2021
  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings: September 3, 2021
  • Eternals: November 5, 2021
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home: December 17, 2021
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: March 25, 2022
  • Thor: Love and Thunder: May 6, 2022
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever: July 8, 2022
  • The Marvels: November 11, 2022
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: February 17, 2023
  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. III: May 5, 2023

Do I feel emotionally pummeled by the inclusion of footage from the opening night for Avengers: Endgame when most of us haven’t seen the inside of a theater in over a year? I do. And yet I’m not mad about it. Watching big tentpole action films isn’t the same when you’re not with a big enthusiastic audience and can all collectively lose your shit at the relevant moments. But this is also a reminder of what we’re looking forward to: not just the movies, but the experience of seeing them.

After a year without Marvel movies, the next year brings a new film every two or three months. It’s a bounty of comic-book riches.
